Body and Cosmetics
Body panels are the original red gelcoat as provided by FFR. They polished out well and have few imperfections. Nothing like the photos seen on the FFR forum.
Disposed of the FFR supplied perforated aluminum in favor of a more open and better looking hex pattern mesh. (see photos)
Inside door panels are tucked inside the top of the door shell. Aluminum trim was installed at the transition.
The front firewall and the belly pan have been glued & riveted. The fiberglass panel attachments have been drilled and tapped for screw fasteners. This cars body can be removed and replaced with a screw driver.
Other things you will want to know:
The rear cross bar between the top of the shock towers has been modified making room for the larger STI intake cooler.
Seems fine for street. May want to restore if stressing this car on the track.
I have 2 ECU units. One is stock and one has been tuned.
There is some minor damage to the left aluminum inside fender well (see photo)
The suspension is mounted on the lower mounting holes providing for the greatest ground clearance. I agree the car looks better sitting low, but I dislike thinking about ground clearance at every speed bump, rain dip or driveway entrance. This car will handle all of these obstacles without damage. As your car, you can set up the ground clearance to fit your desires.
Fuel Vapor recovery canister is installed and working. My garage does not smell of gasoline.
I wrapped the flexible coolant lines in an abrasive protection weave. Seemed to be a good precaution.
I have read the forum complaints regarding the cooling system. I used this information in my build and have not experienced any of these issues.
The brake lights have been modified to include additional LEDs. While all elements light up with brake application the LEDs will extinguish in sequence once the brake pedal is released. Its unique and not a bolt on feature.
Always kept inside my garage.
Built in California. Includes SB100 certificate for no smog testing.
I am the original builder, owner. Have taken this car to many car shows but never to the track. After all my time money and effort I just couldnt do it. Doesnt mean you cant track it.
Things I have learned.
I cant drive 2 custom cars on any given weekend. One has to go. Of course this will also make room for my next car build so there is always that to look forward to. Whichever car sells first (1932 Ford coupe or FFR 818) will leave me the other to drive and enjoy.
Many years ago I flew home built aircraft. At that time is was obvious there were builders and there were flyers. I was the exception to that rule. I enjoy both. If you have an unfinished car project its possible we can include it in the purchase of my finished 818. May be in the market to trade for a Pickup Truck worthy of towing 8,000lbs. or more. Late model or custom build. Never hurts to ask.
The twin turbo drive train is reported to be the highest output sold by Subaru. 285H.P.
I have 2 ECU one stock and one tuned. Have not placed it on a dyno.
Looking for something close to $30k
Thanks for asking.
If this posting is up then my car is still for sale. We all know what it costs to complete one of these cars. We all know how much work (and passion) goes into building a FFR car to completion. All Serious offers considered. CNC_Geek

terrible assumption, only those that have built one or attempted to build one will know. most buyers will see the cost of parts and not know the hundreds, or thousands, of hours of wrenching/researching etc that is really takes.
Agreed, But in this forum I have a higher level of confidence this will be true. At any rate this is simply a poor time in history to be selling my toys so serious offers will be considered.
