    Build questions

I am starting a thread for anyone to post build questions.

I am dropping the fuel injected 347 engine from Blueprint Engines today (into my MK4 roadster), I am wondering if I should put my exhaust manifold on before I put the engine in or is it something I can do once the engine is mounted?

I am in the middle of my build and I would think that the headers would hamper or make it more difficult to install the engine. Also this depends the type and style of headers you are installing. Just my thoughts. Good luck with the build.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I thought it would be a little harder with the headers on just because I would have less space to maneuver the engine. Good luck with your build.

before you install headers, assure the surface that contacts the head is flat. Then install them w/ high temp silicone and no gasket.

Grab a couple of bolts the proper threads (3/8 coarse?) 1-1.5 inches long. Cut the head of the bolt off and hacksaw a slot in the end for a screwdriver. Screw them into the end most holes by hand. Use these to align the header as you install it so you don't inadvertently mess up the sealer. Install the other bolts, pull your studs out and install the last two bolts.
