Hi everyone,
I hpe you are all well.
Just wondering if anyone has used the LOKAR e-brake. I don't like the Factory Five one; it just feels flimsy. Is the Lokar compatible with the Ford cables? How easy is it to install on the trans tunnel?
Thanks for your opinion,
Jeff

Lots of guys use the Lokar handles. Mainly when changing from the transmission tunnel side mount to a top mount. They typically have a clevis that will attach to your cables. Normally cut off the pre-made ends and clamp in the Lokar clevis. Having said that, the Factory Five handle is fine. Have one in a 3 year old Roadster that's been driven a lot. Still like works find and shows no sign of wear. I don't think it's flimsy. Put another one in my just completed Coupe.

Just went through transitioning to the trans top mount with the lokar and love it. See near the end of my build thread at post 300. For me it was more about the position than the handle. I think you could make the FFR handle work great too.
I fitted the Lokar handle many years ago on my Mk1. I used aftermarket cables from some hot rod shop I can't remember. I added a 2:1 lever between the handle and the cables to reduce the effort.
Love it. Just the right location and easy operation.
