    818 chassis info

I was wondering if anyone could help me with some frame measurements on the 818. I plan on buying just the chassis and putting a different body on it. I just need some basic measurements like length and width of the cockpit area and how far in front and behind that are the wheel center lines. Please help and thank you in advance for the info.

Well, if I managed to properly upload this PDF file, then this should get you started.

    818R Main Frame -Santiago v1.2.PDF

If you can't open that, hit me up with an email address so I can send it to you.

BTW, keep in mind that the model shown has the rearmost section of the frame (where the trans sits) chopped by about 4" or so. Otherwise, most measurements are close to within 1/4" (pending weld distortion of the actual frame, my old and aging eyes, how many shots of rum I had at the time, how many times SW crashed on me...'cause SolidWorksSometimes is the real name...)

Also, the official wheelbase is 96" -which is probably correct, however you'll see a 96.5" measurement here for the wheelbase because I took it off of the nearest chassis members that were close to the wheel centerlines (there's just nothing to cleanly reference in the model to get the exact position of the wheel hub). So you're in the ballpark.

    Best,
