Which is the correct hole to use, upper or lower to attach front coilovers to the upper control arm on a Gen 2?
Most photos I’ve seen posted use the upper. Someone at FF5 suggested the lower.

Here's what I ended up with for my Gen 2. I will be running full fenders. For the rear 3-link, I'm still finishing up. Needed a new rod end.
- I used the lower hole in the lower control arm mount and have the bolt pointing up to get a little more range of motion for the lower arm.
- I used the upper holes in the upper control arm as I think that works better in mounting the Radiator.
- I used the lower holes in the upper control are for the upper shock mount to get a bit more preload and ride height for the full fenders.
I figure all of this will work out just fine once I get it all together.
Update Jan 8, 2020
- Used the upper hole for the lower control arm for consistency. However, needed to relocate the grease fitting to clear the steering rack.
- The spring adjuster is 2.9 inches up the black collar. This puts a bit of preload into the system and with a preliminary fitting ride height looks about 5 at the frame and about 6 at the radiator. Exact dimensions once the Rear is adjusted.
