Rear Brake caliper rubbing on rotor

I just finished installing the rear brake calipers on my FF Moser rear end and axles. When I tightened the bolts on the caliper, the outer caliper actually pressed up against the outer part of the rotor - there was about 1/4 inch clearance on the inside caliper to rotor, and none on the outer. This happened on both the driver and passenger side of the axle. I am talking a very tight pressure - i could not turn the wheels over at all. Has anyone else seen this phenomenon? Would it make sense to just add a spacer to center the caliper on the rotor? Is it possible that the axles were not re-installed correctly after removing them to mount the brake brackets? Don't see how that could be true. All of the parts are FF purchased, so surprised that this is the case. I would have expected them to fit pretty true. Maybe something installed wrong, but went over it several times and I am pretty sure it is built as designed. Any thoughts?

What caliper mount brackets are you using? What calipers? Fox width axles? Solid or vented rotors? There is almost .25x" difference in thickness. Are the axles seated correctly in the diff?

Old problem. You have to use a washer on the bolts between the mount and the caliper to give it some clearance.

I had the same issue with mine. Home Depot carries a nice selection of shim washers in various diameters. They are about 1/32" thick so it is easy to fine tune the adjustment.
One FFR and one VFR. I like symmetry

See photo. This is the caliper installed with the supplied washer as a spacer. I was not happy with this so I found another washer that was just a tad thicker. It now centers perfectly but I do not a photo of it.

    Hope this helps

    Olli, Jorge and others,

Thanks for the reply. I ended up putting in a couple of washers to get the caliper centered and now have a very nice fit with the assembly. Sorry for the delay in responding - I was out of town helping my son and daughter-in-law move into a house.
