Wiring a Inertia Fuel Cut Off Switch
Guys,
We got another good question from a customer building a Roadster. He wanted to know our recommendations for wiring the Ford Inertia Switch into his Infinitybox system to cut off the fuel pump in case on an accident. There is a post on our blog that walks you through this.

Essentially, you use the inertia switch to interrupt the MASTERCELL input wire that triggers the fuel pump. That wire has very little current flowing through it so it makes it easy for the switch to carry the load.
Check out the blog post here. Let us know if there are additional questions.

I puchased a complete system for Jay with Infinitybox for my MK4 Coyote, I have pretty good electrical skills which you need to install the harness the comes with the FFR kit. Jay's system is so much easier to understand, install, looks cleaner, trouble shoot and the technical advice over the phone with Jay and his Staff is Priceless.. it my look more expensive up front but after you sell you Ron Frances harness or have FFR delete it from the complete kit it is well worth it. The best upgrade I did was the Infinitybox system..

Thanks for the comments Dan. We really appreciate them. Please send us pictures of the car when you get time. We're always looking to add cars to the portfolio on our website. We have a nice open slot for a MK4.

Infinity Box,
I see you have schematics for the 33 Hot Rod and GTM. Any plans for adding schematics for a MK4 Roadster?
I completed the build school and we used the standard wiring harness and it wasn't too difficult, of course that is with instructors right there. I have yet to build my own car so on my own it might be a little more challenging. If your system reduces the number of wires running all over the place, that would be something I would consider installing.

Hey MattB,
The first systems that we sold back in 2007 went to guys building Factory Five Cobras. Our standard configurations are based on what we learned from those early customers and their cars.
This link will take you to our overall generic schematic that was originally created from what we learned from the Cobras.

More importantly, this link will take you to the configuration sheet for our front-engine set up. This is what we recommend for guys building MK4's.

The configuration sheet is your road map for wiring the car. It gets you all of the colors for the MASTERCELL inputs and POWERCELL outputs. We have a lot of different configurations for different combinations of our hardware. We also have specific configurations for cars like the GTM and the '33. Remember that the configuration sheet that comes with your kit is the document that you need to follow. The guides on the the website are for reference only. This link will take you to a blog post that shows you more details on the configuration sheet.

Remember that less wire is just one part of the value that our Infinitybox system offers to anyone building a car. Our customers can get the latest OEM features in their restorations, resto-mods, pro-touring builds and kit cars. Check out our blog for more examples of what Infinitybox can do that no other wiring harness can.
