Lightbulb upper control arm nut hits weld!

I have read many posts about the drivers side uca rear pivot bushing nut hits the weld at the flange/frame. Most folks say they simply grind away a bit of weld for clearance. I hesitated to cut through the powder coat and risk weakening the joint. What I did do was to grind away one 6th of the flange on the nut so it was flush with the flat on the nut. This worked to give clearance and actually keyed the nut to lock it from turning. Hopefully this will save someone else a little grinding on a critical joint.

If you look inside all the tabs there will be one or two locations where the welds encroach on the barrel bushing flanges. I cut away some of the urethane flange area so that arm isn't bound up when you tighten it down. I didn't like the idea of cutting away any of those critical welds either.

The red shocks can be mounted in either orientation with no change in function, the nickel plated or the aluminum double adjustables have to be mounted body down or they lose their dampning ability.

Jim, I am right in the middle of my build. I called you guys to ask how I set ride height when there is no way to get a spanner , if I had one, on the rings. You guys told me it was AOK to run them upside down. They are the nickle plated shocks from early this year. What do I do now?
