    818 Alternative Crate Engines

This is pretty much what it sounds like from the title.
I haven't been able to find the 2.3l ecoboost engine offered as a crate anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone had found this crate engine or found any other crate engine of a similar(or better) performance in the same size restrictions. I figured I can't be the only one looking into this.
    Any help would be great.

I think a lot of these engines that don't fall into the domestic V8 category are just built by specialists. That seems to be my experience, anyway. That is, of course, if by crate motor, you're referring to something better than the stocker that you go to the dealer (or engine mfg.) to get.

I seem to remember someone saying Ford isn't offering the 2.3 as a crate yet. There is a good bit of interest in it, not to mention FFR for their own proof-of-concept build. Maybe it will become available in the future.

Ford does not sell the 2.3 eco crate engine. They do sell the 2.0 eco crate engine and the package includes intercooler, ECU and drive by wire accelerator pedal.

It's been over two years since the 2.3 eco started production. I think Ford hasn't released the 2.3 eco because it is not compatible with the 2.0 crate ECU. Probably Ford doesn't want to do an ECU development just for a few 2.3 eco crate sales.

I'm not holding my breath on having a 2.3 eco crate to buy soon.

Have you already spoken to FFR? If Ford supplied them with one, perhaps they could point you to the right person or purchase it through their own channel. I'm sure they have better Ford connections than most of us.

46" wide at front, 38 inch wide at rear (near shock cross bar), 22" front to back and about 21" deep. These dimensions are all +/- 1 inch or so, and inside the chassis tubes.
