Question Opinion of my Donor - 98 GT automatic : keep or exchange for 87-93 T-45?

I just came back from the open house in Wareham. Fun to see Mr. Smith and the gang, tour the facility and talk to a few drivers.

Question : I have a weekend driver 1998 Mustang GT Convertible with Automatic Transmission and 4.6L V8. 67,000 miles. I am trying to decide if I should:

    A) Keep her and use as donor, sell the AOD tranny on eBay and buy a T-45 tranny.
    or
    B) Sell her and start out right with an 87-93 with T-5 tranny.

    Please comment on:
    - Possibilities to swap-out from the stock AOD to T-45.
    - Issues with a 98 GT and Mk4 kit vs 93 GT and Mk4 kit.

    Suggestions?

I have a 98 donner, and it is probably one of the best sohc donners if it has no need to get new axles in the diff, if you are going to use abs it is the three channel and very simple to hook up. if you want to change the heads for pi heads. you will increase compression ratio to 10.4 to 1. yes the t45 is the standard manual trans for the 98. power brakes and power steering work great.
    good luck with your desition
