    Right On

Mark, you are entirely correct. The build manual is less than helpful in getting through these wiring steps. I spent hours trying to figure out the transition from the wiring harness to the steering column wiring harness. The forum had good information that got me through the process.

Take a look at my blog and see if that helps. If not, let me know and I'll take another shot at what I did, assuming it is correct.

    Thanks Tim,

    Still puzzled
    1) I have 1 extra wire (yellow ) and your white and purple are switched
    2) where do the led flasher go ? do they work with the stock units or do they replace them. I was told they need to work with the stock flasher unit.

I did read your blog last night before i sent of my request good job as some parts really did help.

Extra yellow wire huh? Not sure about that. In my build manual, v1e, step 160 includes the match-up between the steering column and chassis harness. That step shows one yellow wire on the steering column and one coming from the chassis harness, both intended to activate the left rear turn light. That is the only yellow wire in my in any of the wiring harnesses I received. So an extra yellow wire is a mystery to me. I also looked at the wiring diagram and it only shows one yellow wire running from the left turn signal light to the dash harness.

As for the white and purple wires being switch, the purple wire was in position L of the steering column wiring block. I didn't change it at all. The manual says the Grey wire coming off the chassis wiring harness is to be hooked up to the purple wire on the steering column block. There is one white wire from the chassis harness that has RIGHT REAR TURN imprinted on it. According to the manual, it should mate up with the green wire in position N of the column wiring block. There is a white wire in position P in the column wiring block that I removed and attached to one of the connectors on the brake pedal switch. Where did you see a mix up in the purple and white wires?

As for the LED flashers, based on Step 137 in manual 1e, or on page 129 of manual 1L, I removed the flashers found on the fuse block and replaced them with the two LED flashers (FFR# 33530).

    Hope that helps.

Can this post be added to the Wiki-build section? Might help others in the future.
Planning a 33 build. Car to be named "Fall Colours" Paint scheme decided and described by name. Been thinking about a car to put this paint on for over 25 years. It's about time.
