Does anyone know how to modify the transmission plate on mk4 the tremek tko-600 transmission without cutting the mounting tab? I just don't want to void transmission warranty. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, david

It's not the mounting plate you will have trouble clearing, It's the 4" frame cross member. Not sure about the warranty but the mounting tab on the transmission needs to go. Cut it just like it's shown in the manual and it's all good.
I assume you're talking about this mounting tab on the back of a TKO:
It won't fit in your Roadster without being trimmed off. It interferes with the 4 inch tube crossmember. Nothing you're going to do to modify that. Trimming that tab off shouldn't have any affect on the warranty. I bought my TKO600 from a Tremec dealer, and they trimmed it off for me. We discussed the usual warranty provisions when I picked it up. Hurts to cut into a multi-thousand dollar piece, but all of us have had to do it.
See this is your first post by the way. Welcome!

A good edge cutter will do a nice clean cut.

I love the smell of 100 octane in the morning.

thank you all for the input... I guess I'll cut it off...

Makes a hell of a mess so be sure to tape shut the input & output shafts before you proceed... You don't want aluminum grit in your transmission!
