Door Window Weather-stripping/Wipe
Has anyone found anything better than what came with the car for the weather-stripping/wipe? What came with the car is very stiff & the inside and outside pieces overlap. I've searched the internet for some with the same configuration, like an "h" when viewed from the end, but can't find anything that's right. I've found quite a few, though.
What do y'all use??
Thanks,
Mike

Mike, I came up with a solution I was satisfied with. I have a picture showing it finished but you can't see what I did underneath. To much to put into type. I f you are interested maybe we can talk on the phone. TomIMG_20141127_131915_628.jpgIMG_20141206_091345_959.jpg

That is the sweetest solution I have seen for the top of the doors.
The weatherstrip is a problem but the bigger problem is how weak the top of the doors get once you cut them for windows. I have seen a couple of cars that had cracked at the corners after being painted and driven a few miles. I have been noodling on how to beef the door skins up on the inside in the minimal space there is to work with. Have you thought about selling those?

First thing you should do, is only cut the door wide enough to just slip the glass in with the pressed on mount on the bottom. This will help strengthen the door. I thin just used some thin angle aluminum with felt weather stripping on it. Doesn't keep out the water, but helps with glass vibration.

Dale, Thank you.
It did make the doors sound very solid when you close them. They would probably be too expensive to make and sell. They are cut from solid aluminum bar stock and I have many hours into them because except for milling the slot and clearance for the nylon bush guides underneath it was basically shaped by hand using a belt sander. The doors are not even close to being the same shape. They are held in place by (7) 10-24 studs on each one so they do solidify the whole door.
