    Mounting door frames

image.jpgI've searched the forum, but I could not find any pictures or solutions to my problem. My door frames have been mounted as described in the build manual, but the front edge of the door frame ends up tightly wedged between the window frame at the top and the sill at the bottom, even with the windshield mounted at the highest possible position.

I've checked that I am using the proper hinges in the correct positions, but it all seems far too tight! There isn't nearly enough room for the door skin above and below the frame, or for the mirror bracket on top as well.

Has anyone else run into this, and how did you solve it?image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Make sure you have the windshield tilted back far enough. It has to tilt back not forward to get clearance.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that out.

Were you able to figure it out? I looked at my car and I have about an inch of clearance, but it doesn't seem like I did anything differently from you. I did try to match the measurements given in the manual update for people planning on eventually buying a soft top. It would be interesting to see if you are close to those specs.
