AeroCatch for the Coupe Hood Locks?

I know this will totally destroy the historical look to our cars, but I am considering these fasteners for the Coupe hood:

Yes, I know this car is mine and I can do what ever I want, but - some comments would be appreciated.....

Thanks for posting this. I love the fact that there are so many things out there available to customize anything. Although I haven't started my coupe yet, I envision this somehow on a drive tunnel hatch or even panels in the trunk area. As for the outside hood latches...I'd stick with the original style. Maybe they can fabricate something that would look somewhat original to the coupe. It sure looks more solid.

Hey Rodster. I'm all for customizing! Are you planning on replacing the latches that come with the kit? Or would you use these these in addition? Either way I think they are pretty sleek and won't take away from the overall vintage quality of the car. Please post pics when you can.

I'v seen them on a Cobra, and I think they look great. It's a small detail that doesn't distract from the overall picture.

Very nice. Some of the 818 guys doing higher end builds might be interested in these as well (though with all the hood pins on that car, cost would add up quickly). As long as you aren't going for a purely classic look on the Coupe, I think these would fit in no problem.

I have seen these on a lot of aftermarket hoods installed on late model Mustangs. The hoods are Fiberglass and the owners wanted a low profile look instead of Hood Pins.
I think they would definitely be a unique and positive upgrade.

Rodster, I like those. I stayed with something a bit more traditional with a twist. Ron Schofield produced a plate that will allow you to attach the hood lock from a Triumph Spitfire. If you look at the 4th post in this thread, there are some photos. I bought the plates from Ron, but have not installed at this time.

Thanks for all the input... Now I need to verify whether or not these will be workable on the Coupe hood.

snakebit31 - Yes, I have seen Ron's wonderful lock set (and his other work as well) - also under consideration.

AeroCatch dos looks really nice and sleek.

I am still a long way off for that stage, but I am always looking for good ideas and filing them for when I get there.......
