FFR Wilwood Pedal Box Option
All,
Here is a quick caveat about the 818 Wilwood Pedal Box Assembly that is available in the Factory Five Parts Catalog. I ordered this kit from the FFR online Parts Catalog and found it wasn't correct for use with "older" 818 frames. I called FFR Tech Support and we worked out that for "older" frames, a retrofit kit is necessary. By "older" frames, I mean < #120. I have frame #117 and I was told by Tech Support that sometime after mine, they changed the frame so that you could use either the Subaru pedals, as was originally intended, or use the Wilwood pedal box kit from FFR.
If you are considering using the Wilwood Pedal Box kit from FFR and have an "older" frame, be sure to phone in your order and be sure you get the retrofit kit. The retrofit kit is $50 more, but comes with the steel parts you will need to swap out on your "older" frame to make the Wilwood Pedal Box kit work. This will also make your "older" frame look like a "newer" frame as far as the pedal mounts are concerned.
I completed the retrofit Wilwood Pedal Box frame modifications and it worked out fine once the above information was revealed. I just wanted to point this out here in case anyone is considering this option.
Also, the picture in the FFR Parts Catalog for the Wilwood Pedal Box is incorrect for the 818. Here is the picture I am referring to...

The pedal assembly in this picture is a Wilwood reverse mount pedal box which is incorrect for the 818. The reverse mount has the master cylinders pointed toward the driver inside the firewall. The 818 definitely requires the master cylinders outside the firewall. A standard mount Wilwood pedal box is what's needed in the 818. Again, I just wanted to point this out in case there is any confusion.
Please let me know if there are additional questions about this kit.
Thanks,
-Mike

And make the techs aware.
Wayne advised me that this upgrade was going to be coming soon after his discussion with the FFR folks at SEMA. I have been calling about every two weeks to see when the retrofit kit will be available (mine is #114), most recently this past Friday. The tech I spoke with wasn't really aware of the plans for this. Yet, at that time, the upgrade was operational per Bossman's experience above. Posted in case any of you call to order - variable awareness at FFR.

To be clear, I still do not have a working Wilwood pedal retrofit as I am waiting to receive the correct pedal box from Wilwood. I did receive the retrofit steel bits and modified the firewall frame to accommodate the Wilwood pedals. Once I get the pedal box, I can make the under dash modification to the frame which secures the top of the Wilwood pedal box. I hope to receive and proceed this week. Again, if there are questions, please let me know. Hoping my problems and resolution will make things easier for someone else.

Alright... I now have a working Wilwood pedal box in my Chassis #117 frame. It took a while to get all of the required bits, but it is now completely mounted. I believe the front/rear bias adjustment and two brake master cylinders will simplify the plumbing and will provide a solid and serviceable solution. I just wanted to follow up and say the pedal option worked out in the end!

can you post a picture of the installation. I am curious to see how it fits. As far as the changes, do they affect anything else but the brake and clutch pedals.
