A buddy asked me to share this info. I built a standard dolly as per the available specs. It worked great until I dropped the engine in. Space was limited and I still wanted to roll it out of the way when not in use. With the added wait of the engine, two of the wheels failed (800 lb wheels on original design) , so made the modifications in the following pictures. Used 4x6 outdoor lumber cut in 16" lengths and 1000 lb furniture dolly from Harbour freight.
Car weighed in at 2200 lbs when I took it off the chasis dolly so I know it's good. The added benefit is the car sits 14 inches off the ground so it was easy for me to work under it. Also, since it sits higher up, much easier to work on the interior of the car.
