I would like to say thanks to all those on this site that have helped me along and never knew it. I browsed here before and after getting my Roadster kit and was ready for many of the problems that cropped up.
Today I get to finally add a bit I learned today while wiring my roadster. After carefully reading the instructions I made all of my connections and was ready to try it out. When I hooked up the battery I heard a relay click, this was the first indication of a problem. I noticed a dim glow from the left turn indicator light also. After a quick check I found it was the horn relay that was clicking immediately upon hooking up the battery. Long story short after much head scratching, switch checking and doubting myself I found that one the plugs that connects the fuse box to the dash harness was assembled improperly and the power meant for the horn switch was going to the left turn wiring. I pulled two wires from the connector and reinserted them into the correct slots. After plugging it all back it works like a charm.
I like the Ron Francis harness and this is in no way a slam on their product. The wires are clearly marked and the diagrams in the manual are very detailed. They are detailed and clear enough for an amateur like myself to do some troubleshooting.
There is nearly always someone here that has useful information for builders. Keep posting I am trying to learn all I can.
