    Shifter Trim Ring - Found!

I had it in my head the kit came with a shifter boot and trim ring but for the life of me, I can't find them in my inventory or boxes. Box 6 has the straight shaft billet shifter and knob but that's it.

The reason behind the question is twofold. I bought a blank transmission cover from Brent at Snakebite. While I was measuring and laying out the hole for the shifter it occurred to me that I should double check the hole size against the ring, which I can't find. Now I am thinking if I have to buy one, which is OK, I want it in hand so I can ensure the hole is correctly sized.

It seems to me the hole in the F5 cover is a little oversized, at least for the T56 which has relatively short throws. Either way, I am curious if there is a ring floating around or if this is intentional to allow builders to adjust accordingly. I just thought it was a little odd since they provide a ring for the e-brake.

The shifter trim ring hole and patch panel hole are the same size. Did you check your pack list? I thought it was in the same box as the headlights etc.

Thanks Mike. I have checked my inventory, three times so far. I will look at the box with the headlights. There is a line item that says "shifter handle components" so maybe that is it.

    Tim,

For what it's worth, I used a 4" hole saw to cut the opening and that is just slightly smaller than the inside of the trim ring. I also installed nut seats so I can install and remove the ring with the drive train in the car.
