Has anyone used the North Racecars A/C unit in a Gen 3? Richard is unsure if it will fit. Any other suggestions will also be appreciated.

This is discussed a lot. I assume you know the Factory Five solution is to put a relatively small Siroco Boreal 600 evaporator in the area above the passenger side footbox. The space is limited by the frame design and that unit just fits. I looked at a number of alternatives when I built mine (Vintage Air, etc.) and none of the smallest units from any other source I checked would fit. Can't help you with the North Racecars option. But based on the pictures, wouldn't fit either. So far, I haven't seen any builds documented on here using something other than the Factory Five offering. There have been discussions about relocating the evaporator, but haven't seen anything with that either.
FormaCars is one source that elevates a number of Factory Five features (e.g. roll-up windows for the Coupe) and I see they now have a Coupe A/C system on their website. Maybe something to look at? https://www.formacars.com/product/type-65-hvac-system/. None of their stuff is cheap and I suspect this will be no exception.
