Vintage Air Heater Install Template for Firewall?
I have the MKIV carbon fiber dash (no glove box) and the Vintage Air Heater/Defrost unit. The Vintage Air kit did not come with any installation instructions or template for recommended firewall cut-out. Does anyone have anything they can share? Rough plan was to put it in the location where the glove box would normally go. I'm also going with a Coyote Gen III. And this is my first build, so any tips for the heater install would be appreciated, too.
Thanks!

Here is a link to the instructions https://www.factoryfive.com/wp-conte...-_ROADSTER.pdf
If not using a glove box then the only real issue is the passenger side defrost duct interferes with the heater box when installed in the instructed location. North Racecars, a forum vendor, makes a plenum to solve this problem or you can be cheap, like me, and make your own.

No problem. I find when searching for instructions Google works much better than the forum search function. Just put FFR Roadster followed by the item needed.
Having reviewed the linked instructions, the only other thing I noted was the placement of the heat vents in the foot wells. I didn’t put mine where the instructions suggested but, put them where they best suited me. That’s the advantage of building your own car!

If a glove box is wanted with the heater and Coyote it can be done. I detailed this in my build thread, however, I did use a firewall forward mod from FF Metal also.

Are you doing the firewall forward modification? If so, the paper template gets mounted FLUSH with the bottom edge of the firewall, NOT 2" above.
Also make sure the paper template matches the openings in the heater body. For my heater, the large opening for the heater core was off 1/4"-1/2", if I remember correctly.
Once the heater is mounted, you'll probably find that one or more of the vent ports blow straight into the diagonal dash hoop support. Most of us just cut the support out; the hoop is plenty strong without it.

The heater template DOES NOT match the heater. Maybe it did at one time but it does t anymore. I detailed it in my build thread. It’s close ish but not very good.
