What is the intended function of the aluminum piece that gets mounted in the center of the lower windshield surround? It's listed in the manual as "rear hood support aluminum". If this is its intended function then It seems to me that I would want to install this after the hood is fully mounted and in its proper location. If it was a bit wider I could use it to cover the master cylinder cut out. As it is this only covers about half of the cutout. What has been your experience?

The middle of the hood near the wind shield bounces up and down when you hit a bump.
You can use the aluminum with bulb seal on the top edge to support the hood and prevent bouncing.
Some have made a post to hold the hood up.
Some have reinforced the hood to make it stronger.
It's low on my to do list.
