I just got off of the dyno with my 818S.
The good news is that the engine is great!
The bad news is that the tranny died just after the last pull.
The donor is a 2004 WRX with 130K miles on it.
I will have to either have the broken one rebuilt (I think it is something in the diff), get another 5 speed or do an STI.
How hard is it now to install an STI transaxle? What parts are available? I know that there is one all when drive to FWD part available but what else do I need to do?
Does the frame need to be modified and if so, is there a suggestion as to who can do it in New England? (I am not that good at welding)
What other pitfalls will I run into?
Any other suggestions???
