Yup, you will pay it anyway, no getting around it.
Doesn't FFR charge sales tax no matter whether picking up or delivering?
Printable View
No, if Stewart Transport delivers it to you (outside of MA), then FFR does not charge you sales tax.
It boils down to spending the money now or later when it comes to the tax. My decision is weather I want to pay $1500 to get it delivered and worry about the taxes later or to save about 1/2 the delivery charges by making arrangements to pick it up myself and paying the sales tax upfront. Trying to limit out of pocket spending, due to existing circumstances that have presented themselves since I retired, I am leaning towards Stewart.
If you go the u-haul route, you should be able to save a lot more than half, but you'd have to unload it yourself.
I don't know what kind of other wheels you have, but if you have something available that could haul a trailer, then you could save even more.
That's one of my issues. My Challenger is it. Been asking around but have not come up with anything yet. I'll get it figured out.
Hi Namrups,
I found your build "inspirational" and i am exciting to see your build progress and how the community is supporting. Good vibes and prayers are coming your way from FL and I can't wait to see the delivery process and you kicking off the build. Wishing you the best. Regards, Tom
Thanks Tom! Welcome to the club. My build date is June 11th! Should see it sitting on the rack at the open house. Excitement is building. Glad to have been an inspiration to you.
I did the factory tour in 2017 and it was terrific. Enjoy the open house!
The Excitement Builds
I just got the call from Stewart Transport! Delivery is scheduled for next Wednesday 6/22!!!!!
Awesome!
Fantastic! Congrats.
The excitement is defiantly building .....
Woo-hoo! Big news :)
Jeff
When I was at the FF open house I picked up one of their aluminum plaques to hang in the garage.

And like everything else with these builds I had to add some bling to it!

Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow!!!
Well? did the big truck show up today? Inquiring minds need to know! (hope it got delivered. It is so cool seeing that truck pull up to your home...)
Exciting. I certainly will not be able to sleep the night before my delivery. I can’t wait to see the baby in its crib pictures.
could not wipe the grin off my face when the Stewart truck showed up at my house
Sooo exciting…
Chris
Yeah, Chris is correct! Exciting times await! And I'm so happy for you too! I was giddy as a child getting the best Christmas present ever. Take video and capture your emotions, even if only to be shared with your family, or just something to reflect back on, once you have your build completed. I'm still following along... All the best to you on your journey, Namrups!

Delivery Day
The long awaited delivery day is finally here! My brother flew up from Florida to help. He's as excited as I am. Stewarts driver, Mark, figured arrival between 10:00am and noon. Rain was threatening. The garage was ready. Dan and Alan stopped by to give a hand. Thankfully the rain held off.
The garage at 10:00am.

My baby at home!

Half the neighborhood stopped by during the early evening. I had some help getting the body off and hung.

I've got 35 items on my POL list. Main items were the box of aluminum panels, left and right cv axles, headers, front spindles, and power steering rack. The rest were items I can work around for now. One item that was not there was the differential. It was not listed on any inventory sheet nor was it listed on the POL list. I thought that was a FF supplied part and was not drop shipped from anywhere so to not see it listed was odd to me. I will have to contact FF to see what's up.
Overall a great day filled with a lot of excitement.
And yes I did!

Awesome!

The center section is called out on my order as " 16668 - 2018 Mustang IRS 3.55 Center Section, Spindles, and Hubs" with the spindles and hubs.
Started removing the aluminum panels this morning.

My neighbor brought their 6 year old son over. She told me that he loves cars and was so excited when he saw the Stewart truck. He had been asking her to come see the car since. Told them both he is welcome at any time as long as he minds his parents and does good in school. Based on his excitement I believe we are looking at a straight "A" student. Looks like I have a new build partner.
Great start brother! So happy you are going on this, your garage and use of space looks to be in good order. I'm missing many of the same parts you are - 2 pages worth, but they have been trickling in.
Also reminded me that I need to find some pool noodles haha, at least its the right season for those.
Short update.
I have my daughter this weekend so not much happening with the coupe. I did get to spend a little time this morning, while she was still sleeping, to remove most of the panels.
https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/atta...2&d=1656250634
I only have one panel left to remove. My first attempt was not good. Any tips or ideas are welcome.

After putting the panels in a safe place I took a closer look at the body. I have read about a lot of nightmares when it comes to the fiberglass layup. I believe FF has changed/improved their process. My body looks great. I don't see any major voids. Can't see any delamination.

One area that was really an issue was around the vent windows. That has improved greatly!

Congrats! I'm just catching up after being away for the London Show. For some reason I'm not seeing your photos????
Regarding your body; an all new mold went into use a couple of months ago. Dave sent me pics after they popped the first body out of it and then when I was at the Open House I was able to check out several "in the flesh" (one might have been yours!) and the clumsy area in the rear quarters and around the rear portion of the windows is greatly improved, both in shape and with what it allows during the layup.
Looking forward to your updates---(now I have to see if I can figure out whether the missing photos are due to an issue on my end)
:)
Jeff
That is odd. I'm not doing anything different that I know of.
test. can anyone see this:

How about this one:

Ok. For those in the know..... If I am saving my build pictures into a "private" gallery and then trying to post them in my thread will they be seen or will they be blocked because the gallery is private? That is the only thing I can think of that is blocking anyone from seeing these pics.
