That's a sharp color scheme!
Agree with Jeff! Plan A.
Wow Jessie, it's going to be a stunner. I'm with Jeff on the front spoiler. If it were a two color, black and whatever color, the solid color would work but with your color combo, definitely tie it all together. Can't wait to see it dressed and ready to go out on the town!
That will look sick! Wow!
Off to Paint
If you go back to my first build thread when I took my car off for paint I took this pic then complained that I forgot to take pics of it at Ron's shop.

Well 4 years later I did the exact same thing. I pulled the car into Ron's shop, talked for 45 minutes about what exactly I wanted to do and didn't take a single photo lol. So I will leave you with these.

New Tahoe, new build same journey. The drive was uneventful and Ron was great. He does a lot of Backdraft's in the New Haven area so he is very familiar with the chin spoiler. He gets the assignment. It's looking like early June for completion (give or take) so I will post updates as they arrive. I am also installing hood vents so I am real excited to see how that turns out.
Boys night out in New Haven, started at Frank Pepe's for pizza, went to a few different distilled spirit serving establishments and finished the night at a cigar bar and howled at the moon.
I am very tired but excited to move back onto the truck full time.
Congrats, Jesse! Awesome milestone, and I can't wait to see your color selection in real life!

New paint colors on the house as well:)
Yeah, that's right. Funny story about the house. My wife and I bought in in 2008, it was a total fixer upper in a great neighborhood. We picked colors that looked a lot like a fall leaf. Burnt orange was the goal. After I got all the really hard to get to places painted we were like "Whoa, that's really orange". I was kind of pissed and had already bought 10 gallons. I ran upstairs and grabbed the color tile and was then like "We got screwed, this isn't even close!"
I took the tile outside and held it against the house it was a perfect match. It looked totally different in the sun. Lesson is your house lives outside, plan your colors accordingly. So we ran with it. Finally after about 10 years it needed a new coat so we changed up the color to something I like to call more "resale-able".
The orange grew on us but I was happy to see it go.
As a retired color matcher there are three rules to understand: 1) ALWAYS look at the color under sunlight. It will look totally different under any other light source. (Hate to say it as I am an old male, but) 2) Female eyes see color better than male eyes 3) Young eyes see color better than old eyes. I was lucky that I had the use of a color booth that had different light sources and a colormatching computer. Without those my colormatching days would have been over a lot sooner!

Females have more cones than males.
I see what you did there
Seat fix
One of the things I found about my Intatrim seats during my shakedown rides was they are (at least for me) a little thin in the seat. My tail bone would start to hurt after a while. So to address this I found a local upholstery shop to help re work them.
This is how they looked as shipped.

Also since I have nothing to do with my MK4 I wanted to make the door straps and accent piece. I tried orange dye and it didn't look right so I went with this orange leather paint. I like it, if it cracks down the road I will re do them and dye them black.

Looks like they added a good amount of additional padding to the seat bottom. Hoping that solves your comfort issue.
For once I really wasn't trying to do something! I've always heard women have more cones than men so they see colors better and I believe it. My wife would see differences in the spray outs we had done that I didn't even notice.

I know that's scientifically true but somehow my wife missed that boat! When I've been building our houses and have wanted her input on color choices for various rooms she was completely the opposite...we'd be look at colors and she'd ask what I thought of something that she selected and invariably I'd say something like "that has too much gray/green/brown/whatever" and she'd look at me like I had 2 heads and ask "where do you see the gray/green/whatever in that?" Maybe it's because of what I do that I'm more tuned into shades and hues whereas she just sees horses :D We decided that when it comes to color she's like the 6 crayon box that they gave us in kindergarten and I'm more like the box of 96---with the built in sharpener!

First body work shots
I got my first body work shots. Nothing too fancy here accept they were texted to me and I forgot to see how they were oriented before I uploaded them. Fun surprise, the forum now auto orients them correctly! YAY
Anyhoo, they are going to align the scoop then move on to the vents. I was told the body is in pretty good shape and they haven't found any voids.

There you go! Surprised to see this stage being done on the chassis but more than one way to skin the proverbial cat *⬛ :)

Yeah it freaked me out the first time but I can’t argue with the results. He’s thinking mid June, I’m fully prepared for it to take longer if need be. There is an annual rally in Lake George 2nd week in July I would love to debut it.
Fun fact, I thought I got one of “those body’s” as you would say but Ron asked me if I had hand picked it because he had t seen one that clean before. I was a little surprised cuz there are def some fitment issues. He was like that stuff is easy to fix but there are zero voids.
It’s funny how a customer and a pro look at these things differently.
On your way! Can’t wait to see the end result. Did you get a approx timeline of completion?
Do you know what is the clear gel in the body seams? Some sort of epoxy filler?
It’s resin.
