How close is the steering wheel to the dash?

Doing some "dry-fitting" on the Coupe. How does my dash-steering shaft-steering wheel location compare to yours?

Pictures or measurements would be nice - as well as how the car looked when you finished this stage. The steering shaft is closer to the passenger side, as you can see from the Factory-supplied, pre-drilled dashboard. I will either patch the ugly hole (trim ring/gasket?) or make a new plate for the front of the dash.

I will be using the "modern" Autometer gauges, which are smaller than the vintage units.

I will tell you I have a similar issue with my cutout. Mine is the right height, just not centered in the cutout. I too am off to the right about 3/4 of an inch too far. I installed my steering, and the hole is clearly visible behind the wheel.

All seem to tip to the right. However you can adjust the in and out of the steering wheel on the shaft that slides. I patched my hole as I lowered the wheel slightly by rewelding the bearing bracket on the crossbar. Which looks like the best way to center your wheel, although you've cut the dash allready. There is an outfit that sells a nice polished aluminum oval trim ring for this hole. I think it was **********, I can't remember, I'll have to look it up. But it makes things look finished. I also took a section of tailpipe maybe 4" long and had a muffler shop swage it open slightly to fit the Breeze removable boss. I then put some sealer on the inside of the pipe and glued it to this boss. Makes it look like a steering column, albeit turns with the steering wheel. Also adds a finishing touch.

That looks about right.
