Need help ASAP

So our two kits are were due last Friday through to tomorrow which is Sunday. We haven’t heard from the driver so making plans is tough because he might not be able to deliver to our shop. If he can’t then the kits will have to be dropped off on my buddy’s driveway which is fine for a day or two. My questions are:
Can the chassis and body be lifted with an engine hoist and put on a trailer?
Or…
Can the chassis and body be lifted with several humans?
Thanks for any words of wisdom.
PS - the kits are the MK5 roadsters

Don’t know which kits you have but the roadster is light enough for 2-3 people to lift. Easier with the body off.

If you can safely leave a trailer at buddy's, have the frame and body set on the trailer. Might throw some 2x4 down on the trailer.
Lotsa boxes with the kits.

We both have pickups and can move all the boxes the last mile (actually only 3/4mi) no problem. We have to rent a trailer and not knowing when the kits will arrive is making it hard to reserve one. There is also the possibility that we won’t need to as the driver may decide he can get to the shop after all. We’ve sent photos and videos of the street to the shop but it looks like no decision will be made until he sees the place.

Having a city and state listed in your profile might get you some local assistance to your thread. A fellow builder with a trailer, an alternative place to have them safely delivered. You just never know.

Thanks Bill, good idea made the changes to my profile.

I've received several kits from Cunningham Transport (Stewart) and the driver has always called the day before and then again when in range. I don't think he would arrive without warning. I think it goes without saying someone needs to be there to check the box manifest as it's unloaded to make sure you get everything plus sign for the delivery. Don't forget a tip is customary if you get good service. They've always been top notch for me. TXeverydayDad must have stronger friends than I do. 2-3 people to lift a body plus frame would be a challenge IMO. At least 4. Good luck and enjoy!

Hello to Camarillo BTW. Lived there from 4th grade through sophomore at Camarillo High. We had to move because of my dad's job. That was just a few years ago (!!!) and I know it's changed a lot. We lived on Geneive Circle if you know where that is.

Hahaha…everything is just bigger/stronger in TX! :-) When I took delivery of my Mk4, the frame dolly given to me broke as we (the driver and I) were pushing the frame/body into the garage. The two of us lifted the frame/body off the ground onto jackstands. Obviously, it’ll be easier with more people.

The long cold winters here in Michigan and we lose strength... What can I say. I just wouldn't think to try it with two. Well maybe that's if one of the two is me. :p

I would be really surprised if they didn't call ahead. Long haul guys on are on a pretty tight schedule and delays cost money. If I had to guess he got held up and isn't close enough to warrant calling. Either way, good luck and bring strong guys.

I was surprised they would deliver on a holiday when my kit got delivered on Labor Day last summer. But they did call in advance, if I recall the day before, and about an hour before he showed up on delivery day
