I've seen the plain, or clear coated aluminum louvers and body color, but who's color matched side louvers to the stripe (or even pinstripe) colors?

If you want people to just see your louvers then paint them a different color. The human eye will keep going back to them. IMHO but thats just me...da bat
I had mine powder-coated to match the stripe.

Plenty of them with blacked out louvers when doing the chrome delete. Just look at any of the Backdraft RTB3/RTB4 series and you will get some good reference images. This is one I saw a while back which has accent color matched louvers:

I did not, because they are basically the same color. However, I am thinking about removing them and powder coating them clear. In 3,000 miles, I am noticing they are tarnishing (very slightly) and getting dirty. I think the PC will help keep them in better condition.

Seems to me painting louvers can look really good or really bad depending on your color choice. That Backdraft roadster was an insult!

I powder coated mine with a chrome powder. You do need to top coat with a clear powder to add protection and UV stability. I used Prismatic Powders Super Chrome Plus and Clear Vision. Still need to work on my technique for two layer powder coating. The chrome powder coating goes well with the polished GasN side pipes.Quote:
