The top bend is quite often a problem. The good thing is that it is made of pretty soft brass or bronze alloy so it is easy to bend. I'd bend it to fit the w/s frame curve better and then see how the hole lines up. Yes you can slide the brass threaded insert up or down in the frame. The worst part of all this is that it is a soft insert which means you only get a few tries at installing the screws before the threads strip out. I don't remember who but one of the well known suppliers offers a replacement piece made from steel.
How do you slide the Brass insert up and down within the frame?
