I fabricated an extension out of angle iron. It effectively lengthens the e-brake handle. It's not an ideal solution, but it improved the angle of the cable so it no longer binds. I'm sure others have solutions that are at least as good. My extension is about 1 1/4 inches long. It does make applying the brake a bit more difficult. Another first-world problem...
I used the Lokar clevis with the stock hardware to give myself a bit of extra room to keep the cable from rubbing. it's also easy to adjust the tension on the cables after installed. I don't think Lokar sells just the clevis anymore and you may need to buy the cable with the clevis, but some places might still have the clevis in stock.
