Factory Five Type 65 Daytona Coupe - This meticulous build is based on a 1989 5.0L V8 retaining all factory emissions equipment. Ported heads, light weight roller rockers, Elgin E1017P cam, Cobra intake, 70mm MAF & throttle body, T5 5 speed manual transmission, 4 link 8.8" rear end, Cobra brakes, heat & AC. The car is registered and insured in CT with approximately 4000 miles on the odometer.

NIce job Bill. How was the fit and finish of the kit parts. Was body stiff enough? I am considering the 65, but I am not a mechanic. Might consider buying.

Hi Steve,
The body has some flex but once it's attached to the frame it's quite stiff. You need the flex to assemble it. Finish was pretty good, we didn't see much for pinholes in the gel coat as some of the earlier guys mentioned. Fit wasn't great but we worked it out. The nose was too long and tall, it took a skill saw and some fiberglass to make it right. The doors took forever to get right, with pretty significant differences from side to side. This was one of the later black bodies, the new red bodies are supposed to be much better.
