I will be picking up my roadster kit in a few weeks.
When I return, to either the Niagara or Fort Erie crossing, with TC docs in hand, is HST charged on my full purchase price?
What type of payment does the CBSA accept (ie: cash, cheque, Visa, M/C)?

Hi Canuk14
If you post it in the Canadian Discussions thread, I am sure someone can help with your questions. There are quite a few people who have come across the border with their kits.
Thanks John
Hey Canuk14,
When I brought mine across, I crossed at Ogdensburg/Prescott, I presented the invoice and paid HST based on the invoice. I paid by CC.
You can call cbsa they will tell you exactly what to expect.
Cheers,
Achi
Thanks for the reply. Was it a fairly quick process, or was there a full inspection of the parts?
It was quick, well the payment was. They just looked at the invoice and paperwork (import papers). They did not look over the parts. The guys at the border thought it was a real cool project and had many questions about the build process. I had no hassle at all. All positive for me.
Good luck,
Achi
Brought my Type 65 over at Queenstown/Lewiston 2 weeks ago. They did not care one bit about the paperwork, car or the boxes of parts. Only concern they had was collecting over $3200 in HST.
