Hydroboost line routing
Attachment 1643I've got a 4.6L with hydroboost brakes and power steering rack for a basic MK3 kit. I didn't pull the donor parts so I'm trying to figure out how the hydroboost (3 ports), power steering rack (2 ports not counting the ones that go to the rack itself), power steering cooling loop, and pump all connect. Can someone help me connect the dots (see attached drawing)? THanks!

Found some more info...and I forgot about the reservoir. Can someone look at this and let me know if I'm on the right track?

Here's a great diagram and writeup on how to do it.

Some of your fittings may be different due to metric vs SAE. Let me know if you've got any questions.

Cooling loop should be between I and J, in your diagram, on the low pressure circuit.

Thanks!
Thanks, John. That's a great link. I also noted in that discussion that I probably don't need to bother with the cooling loop. One less thing to find space for, mount, and have a potential leak.

Why do you have the "out" from the pump going through the cooling loop?
Have the return from the rack and the HB unit converge into one hose-->through the cooler--> into the "in" on the pump.
The cooling loop shoudl go in the small green line on the referenced schmatic (the low pressure return after the "T" fitting on the left side of the diagram.

Thanks. In doing some additional reading, I think I'll go without the cooling loop. Seems to be unnecessary unless you are pulling a trailer or in the Moab Desert. Neither of which apply.
