About DSR-3
- Biography:
- November 2015; Purchased un-started 818S Kit no. 332, and 2005 WRX donor parts from original buyer. Soon received a 2006 EZ30R H6 for use.
Building on a limited-time effort like many, while still working full time in silicon valley with a family, 2 kids, and everything that goes with these things.
My brief history:
*Prepped and raced (3) road-race motorcycles from 1984 to 1989, and raced throughout California, the Southwest, and finally Road Atlanta.
*"Assembled" a Crossle' 32F Formula Ford from 4 photos and a trailer full of parts, and raced in SCCA 1990 to 1993.
*Fully restored the Crossle 32F and continued to race it in SCCA until 1999.
*Built/rebuilt numerous Formula Ford engines along the way...
*2000 Built an AMAC D-Sports Racer (DSR) from a "kit" with the manufacturer (AMAC), consisting of the frame, glass body, and misc fab'ed suspension arms etc. Sourced and designed/built everything else. Yamaha R1 power. Raced in SCCA Regional and National DSR throughout California and Arizona. 2001 to 2006.
*Developed dry-sump oil system, pickups, pans.
*Built/rebuilt numerous Yamaha engines along the way...
*Sold the car racing hobby after family became a priority, and the costs to go racing continued to get crazy.
I'm ready for a new project!
