I found an old thread about replacing the FFR-recommended Odyssey PC925 battery with an Optima 9078-109 but the poster hasn’t been on the forum for a few months, so I thought I’d see what others are using in their trucks. Questions:

1) The specs for the Optima 9078-109 (roughly 10x7x7) appear to make this battery too large to fit on the stock battery shelf which is about 8x8x8. Has anyone used the Optima without modifications to the stock battery space?

2) Any other recommendations for an Odyssey replacement?

It fully wraps around the back of the frame. I am going to start mocking up the bed soon and it seems to me there is way too much fiberglass here. The manual doesn't mention it at all and I can only find one thread where it was discussed. I was considering removing all of it but I'm not sure

You can see at least the one side in this picture



When the truck was shipped they laid the bed on top of the fiberglass. Is this right? Seems like it would create a slope. I am a little nervous about it. I only want to cut once if you know what I mean. I am not sure how to proceed

Axle flange to axle flange (without the rotors on it) I've found mix info on the web for the S197 diff measurements.
I think its 65.5"

Also, do you think it would be better if it was narrower? or wider? or does it fit perfect within the chassis?

I'm waiting on my order from FFR and figured I would start building the rear end.


ps: its going to have an electric parking brake (no cables), 4.11 gears, bolt in axles, and an axle tube brace kit

I was informed a -4 return or a -6 to -4 reducer would cause pressure issues. Any ideas? guess I need to scrap the FF parts?
