Check T5 from JEGS. I'm planning to go with 331 ~450hp. It's heavy duty WC, so it's stronger than stock WC 300ft/lbs. I was told that the one from JEGS will more than enough.
My friend using this one for last 4 years in his Cobra (~400hp) with no problem.

That's good to know , thanks. I figured the reduced weight over a Mustang makes a big difference. Still have to figure out to go with a 351w or a 302 based engine. Want to be just north of 400hp. Do you have any knowledge or exp. with Blue Print engines. Jegs and Summit carry them ?

I'm not an expert by any means on rebuilding engines. I was planning to buy crate engine, but then decided to build one the way I like. I was thinking of 302 engine, just because I like the weight of the block. By stroking it to 331 I will get more torque and with GT-40 heads I can get close to 450hp. If you want higher displacement you can do 347 (still 302 block) and it will be easier for you to fit it under the hood. I'm not familiar with 351 at all, but if you want to stay in 500hp range you will be fine with 302 block. If you want go higher than that you will need bigger block, because 302 starts to flow above 500hp.

Hey FOX, check out FORD Motorsports online catalog they have a new sb 363 that puts out almost 500hp at the crank so when you get through the rest of the driveline you should have over 400 RWHP just an option and I think it comes with a warranty!! Happy to help out !
