My first post!

I recently ordered my Factory Five Mk4 Roaster complete kit. I have decided that after reading for hours every morning when I wake up that I should probably start a blog here and hopefully get some help from others and contribute to the forums so the future builders have even more to look at.

If all goes well I am expecting to receive my kit at the end of next month or early October. I live in Iowa and it gets pretty cold here so hopefully asap!

The pursuit of a goal and dream has started wish me luck! I will post pictures right away as soon as delivery happens.

Awesome! Congrats! I'm in the same boat, waiting for delivery in mid-Sept. So lots of sitting around and reading forum posts while waiting. ;)

Woo Hoo! Congratulations, you're going to have a blast. I've had my MK4 kit just a little over two months and can't stay out of the garage. My wife has dubbed it the "Metal Mistress", lol. The motor and transmission goes in this coming weekend. Good luck with you're build.

Haha glad to know I am not the only one! Although I am finding it need to stop reading there are so many things I want to do different now after reading what others have done.

Welcome to the madness. Dont' know what level of skill you have but we have had everything from someone that hasn't even changed oil in his car, to guys that build them as custom turnkeys. But everyone has started their FIRST build from a dream. And every story along the way is as unique as the cars that are built.

So while you wait, you want to do what we call "nesting".... that is, get your garage in order. When I finally ordered mine back in 2005, I bought one of those plastic Kerkey(?) sheds, a 6'x8' and set it up in our RV spot. Then moved everything from the garage that wasn't associated with the build, over into the shed. With very little shelving, I bought a gorilla rack to begin stacking the donor parts -if you bought the complete kit, there's no need to think about that unless you really do need shelving.

I also knew I would need an pneumatic rivet gun, hoist, engine stand, leveler, dollys (at least for me since I only had a 2 car garage and promised the wife she could STILL park her car next to the project). By the time Stewart arrived, the "nest" was ready and everything fit as expected:

    Enjoy the journey.
