Engine and tires for my Roadster

Rate this Entry
Hello Roadster owners - My kit will be delivered next week and I could use some help. First, I am thinking about the 347 engine from the Engine Factory but I am worried about the piston rods that cut into the oil ring groove. Has any one had any problems with burning oil because of this. And, how is this engine.

Second, I need tires for the 17 inch wheels. Just going to be a street driver, no racing, so any suggestions.

Thanks for the help

Bob, I am using Hankook Ventus H105 235/45r 17 on my 33 hotrod. I do not have it on the street yet buut after researching tires these seem to be a good choice for me. Price was $117.00 ea. from Peerless tire. Good luck with your build . Tom

Look at Gordon Levys 347, more horses and he builds them himself. People on the forum have nothing but good things to say about him.

I would get my engine from either Mike Forte or Gordon Levy. Both have excellent reputations. I got my 351 from Mike Forte because I bought his module pack. Back before complete kits he offered everything else you needed after you bought the kit. 5,500 trouble free miles. If I had to buy another engine I would buy one from whoever is closer. I had no problem dealing with either guys.
