It's a "Car Guy" Thing - an observation

From my unique vantage point, I'm witness to a lot of activity during a typical day here at Factory Five. My desk faces the showroom, so not only do I get to see four of the prettiest cars on the planet every day, but I also am the first one to see the visitors that stop by.
Like most people in a situation like mine, I tend to take the view in front of me for granted. That is until someone walks through our front door and sees, for the very first time, THE car they've dreamt about for years. The reactions, for the most part, are the same ........ WOW!!! After he manages to get his jaw off the floor, this look comes over his face that I can only describe as pure delight. (Every now and then there is some drooling involved but the guy catches himself fairly quickly and tries to look like everything is totally cool.)
Besides this physical reaction, there's something else that takes place and it's this. A former typically quiet guy turns into a guy that can talk for hours about car stuff. And I mean hours! It's a car-guy thing. It's the thread that every single guy that has grown up loving cars has in common. Guys who were perfect strangers before they walked through our door become instant friends. It's amazing and it will never become old. Dave often talks of the "community" of FFR and I see it every day here, up close and personal.
