Ride height

Rate this Entry
Looking at ride height posts and the general opinions are 4 to 4/1/2 front 4 1/2 to 5 rear. I’m running 15 inch 60 series tire with pretty tall sidewalls. I think if I crank the springs down to those heights I won’t have any spring left. Am I missing something or is my feeble mind not firing on all the brain cells?

Assuming that you are running the Koni coil-overs that come from FFR, you can change the coil-over springs out for some shorter springs which will lower the chassis and give back some adjust-ability for spring rate. I'm running the the FFR wheels with 275/40-17 front and 315/35-17 rear and set my ride height at 4.5-4.75. My initial settings were around 1.5 full turns or rotations on the coil-over adjusters. To go any lower on ride height I basically would have had to set the spring rate with zero turns or no spring rate. I haven't driven it enough to tell if that is enough or too much. It will have to wait until old man winter is done. I found some posts here about the Koni coil-over spring options and spring rates but I don't recall exactly where. Keep searching you'll find everything you need on here though.
