National Street Rod Association Nationals in Essex Vt. Where were you Factory Five? Very disapointed. No show.
I was actually going to delete this blog entry, and as I was writing the PM to you to let you know why, it struck me that it would be better to approve the post and use it to let you know a couple of realities as it relates to FFR, and is true of small businesses in general. I understand you are frustrated at them not attending the show. The fact is they don't don't have the budget to attend every major show. A lot of times, the only FFR presence at shows is through owner groups. There are some big shows in Los Angeles, for example, like the National Rod Show at the LA fairgrounds that are attended by owners. Factory Five does attend quite a few shows coast to coast during the year, but just doesn't have a marketing budget to do it full time. To dedicate a team to do nothing but promote FFR at large national shows, let alone at smaller regional events would require them to substantially raise their prices, and that undercuts their desire to keep the build experience affordable. In my opinion the biggest salespeople for FFR are the builders. We just love the build experience, and get together whenever we can to spread the word about the fellowship to FFR builders. If there is a show near you that you would like to see FFR attend, your best bet is to post a heads-up a month or two in advance and try to get a group of builders together to attend the show. These guys know all the technical details of building an FFR and chances are there are a few around your area that would make the trip. Welcome to the forum, and I look forward to hearing more about your Factory Five obsession!
