VIN Plate

Rating: 2 votes, 4.00 average.
I decided to make my own VIN plate. Because of all the time and modifications in this build, I wanted to have my name on it as a record of the builder.

Where did you have that done? Been looking for someone to make the custom VIN plate for months.

I did all the artwork myself and had a local company make them. I tried out a few different versions. Including 'BUILT BY" and "Daytona".

Plan on getting my car registered in the next two days. Anyway I could get a plate made like the "manufactured by" one?

Ron, What software did you use to create this. I would love to do something custom like this for my build. VERY cool!

I used the same software that I used to create the SpeedHut gauges. Adobe Illustrator CS2.

Very nice, but be very careful. There is someone out there that's always looking for someone to sue.

I'm not worried, Canadian Copyright rules are different than those in the US. I'm not a company manufacturing and selling a product.

Neither was Bill (the original owner of FFC*b*a) or LK Motorsports. Both spent a lot of money defending themselves. Hate to see you go thru that.

And the chicken farmer doesn't limit himself to the states:

"AC shut their doors in 1984 and sold the AC name to a Scottish company. The company's tooling, and eventually the right to use the name, were licensed by Autokraft, a C**** parts reseller and replica car manufacturer owned by Brian A. Angliss.

Autokraft manufacturing an AC 289 continuation car from 1982 as the Autokraft Mk IV, basically a Mk III with a 5.0 L (302 ci) Ford V8 and Borg Warner T5 Transmission. The Mk IV also received an independent suspension. Shortly thereafter, Carroll ****** filed suit against AC Cars and Brian A. Angliss, in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. The ensuing settlement resulted in ****** and AC Cars/Angliss releasing a joint press release whereby AC/Angliss acknowledged that Carroll ****** was (and is) the manufacturer of record of all the 1960s AC Cobra automobiles in the United States and that ****** himself is the sole person allowed to call his car a Cobra."

Your work is amazing. Keep it up.

I am not worried, Canadian copyright/trade mark rules have a business component to them. I would have to be a business making money for anything to happen. I am doing this for myself with no business component.
