Before I start cutting holes in this lovely piece of aluminum. I'd like to know if the stock locations for items like the heater core are ok or if I need to modify the locations of such things to make other pieces fit properly. And do any of the heater core pieces conflict with the back of the engine. I'd like to have a functional glovebox, though I understand I might need to heat up the plastic of the glove box to modify it's shape. I'd like to avoid, as much as possible, doing such things.

Are there any fit conflicts with the Extended firewall and a Coyote engine?

Thanks

-Mk IV Cobra Roadster
-IRS
-Gen 3 or better Coyote planned
-TKX 5 Spd Trans planned

After building a largish chassis dolly, I started my build in June of 2024 working fairly steadily and documenting my work on my youtube channel here: J6 Cobra Build don't forget to like and share.

The build has been smooth thus far with only a few head scratchers to slow me down. I felt well prepared as I attended the build class at Mott Community College in Livonia, Michigan a few years back. I'd say that was a wise investment. If considering one of these kits I highly recommend it.

Thus far I've modified the front upper control arms as suggested in the forums. Shortening the rear link to bring the measurements to spec as indicated in the assembly manual. I ended up doing much of this with a hacksaw and a grinder. That was FUN. FFR recomended to NOT modify the arms but many here said it was a good idea and I didn't want to pay someone else to do it later. SO BOLDY I proceeded.

I had a little trouble with the rear differential. At first the rear passenger side mounting bolt did not thread in to the mounting ear. Even though I had tested everything prior to lifting the diff into place. After consulting the forums a bit and reading some "sketchy" advice, such as filing the bushings out (don't modify your bushings), I decided to just loosen the front mounting bolts up enough to allow the diff to move around a bit in the chassis. I then removed the troublesome bolt and the rear half of the bushing along with the steel sleeve. I discovered the bolt threads had a small burr on them which I filed down. I then partially reassembled the bushing and sleeve assembly barely inserting the steel sleeve into the other half of the bushing. Just enough so I could use the bolt to pull the rest of the bushing into the chassis. It worked like a champ. So if your stuck with what you think is an misaligned diff. just leave things installed, but loose, and get everything started in then torque all the bolts as needed. I have a video explaining the evolution of this particular problem coming.

I've purchased the Extended Firewall from FFMetal and found it to be of excellent quality! If anyone reading this has any insights on where to cut holes in this piece for the heater core, Fuel pressure regulator and any other helpful info I would greatly appreciate it. Particular when it comes to fitment of the engine. How much space do I have to work with?

I should explain the name of my youtube channel as well so people don't get the wrong idea. I have a large family. 6 of us in fact and we all have "J" names. Thus J6 Cobra Build. I designed the logo so enjoy.

You'll hear some great music on my youtube channel. Thats my sons band "Forearms?" Available on Apple Music, Amazon Music and Spotify. The Cobra shares space with the band so Therefore I get to use there music on my videos.
