I feel your pain. It is way harder than it should be.<br />

My suggestion is you use a 20ton press to press the studs in. You can cut the stud off on the spindle with a little rotary cut off. <br />
If you don't have a press, take it to a shop and ask them to do it. <br />
Orielly carries replacement studds that fit. (I actually have a spare or three if you need them).<br />
<br />
Another trick I hear is to freeze the studs overnight and then use the stud tool. That being said, I don't want to worry about having weakened my studs by using a tool that depends on a sacrificial nut.<br />

Finally, if you are in Colorado on the I25 Corridor up North I am happy to have you come over and use my press.<br />
