Only at the 1965 12 Hours of Sebring race, the Daytona Coupes had a stylized “Daytona” script near the side openings in the hood. Since then, this has been associated with the coupes. I wanted something more factory looking so I created a two piece emblem. The top is stainless steel which is polished and the bottom is an aluminum piece that is anodized black. The aluminum has holes for mounting pins. ...
Since my dash will be modeled off the Ford GT and I wanted the car to look like a factory car, I had some custom gauges made by Speedhut. I used Adobe Illustrator to make the custom artwork. I then sent the artwork to Speedhut. The result were gauges that use ISO logos instead of works to identify the gauge. Since I am located in Canada, I also wanted the speedometer to have km/h and mph. I also added out of range "red" areas. ...

I took a Trickflow rear end cover and did some CAD work and then gave it to the machine shop. The result was a one off cover. Sadly, this will only be seen in presentations at car shows.

I decided to make my own VIN plate. Because of all the time and modifications in this build, I wanted to have my name on it as a record of the builder.
I plan to use this blog to highlight and describe some of the custom work that I did in building my custom coupe. Hopefully this will give others some ideas. If anyone has questions, please ask. Ron Schofield
