  1. Road Trip 2011--15 days and 8,000 miles of Roadster fun

The stars appear to be aligning. For several months I have been planning to check off a list of bucket-items that all, in some way, are dependent on the roadster. About a month before take-off I started hearing the tell-tale squeal of a throw-out bearing crying over lost grease. All I could do was to have the little monster admitted to the Whitby Clinic for Ailing Snakes. Vacation was delayed...first one week, then two weeks. This past Monday I noticed that the apple trees where bearing fruit, and ...

  2. Christmas in July - Crate Motor Arrived Today

Hi again all. The Tuff Dawg small block Ford 347 stroker motor arrived today. When that Old Dominion tractor trailer pulled up to the driveway it was like Christmas in July :), there are a few pictures below. Have to get a carburetor, fuel pump, ignition system, water pump, alternator, pulley's and belts next. Thinking about a Quick Fuel 680 cfm carb; Holley mechanical fuel pump; MSD ignition and March water pump, alternator and pulleys. Got a quote from Joey at Performance Automotive in Belleview, ...

  3. Observation

I have been an infrequent visitor here as I have begun the path to a new occupation, thus reading, studies, classes, research, papers, and exams now have been consuming all my spare time. Combined with my current work my wife has been exceeding patient as I go from studies, to work and back to studies.. oh and just occasionally some sleep! There still is nothing quite like climbing in the car, frequently with Jake as we hunt for some old two lane highways or older southern towns to visit. ...

  4. This girl's building an FFR Roadster!

by , 07-24-2011 at 08:32 PM (The Wrenchette: A Girl Buils a Roadster)
I finally did it. Today I finally filled out the online order form for an FFR Mk 4 Roadster complete kit and clicked the "submit order" button. Deep breath...and so it begins.

This will be my first car project, as all of my projects before this were of the two-wheeled variety. I learned to ride a motorcycle 15 years ago when my husband (then boyfriend) dug up a 1970 Hodaka Super Rat frame and engine out of my parent's backyard. My husband was always into motorcycles, and ...

  5. Moser 8.8" rear end is in

Hi all. Installed a Moser 8.8" solid axle rear end and Koni coil over shocks, there are a few pictures below. All went well except for one small problem (and it was just me). I initially installed the rear end under the panhard mount brace instead of over it. I didn't realize it had to go over until I tried to install the Koni coil over shocks and they wouldn't reach the lower shock mounts on the rear end. It only took about 5 minutes to disconnect the upper link and lower control arms ...
