I forgot to mention one thing that is another added benefit to using the GT40ps. For whatever reason, they have a slightly smaller volume in the chamber from the stock E7s. I have heard different numbers depending on what you read but it is in the range of 58 to 60. When I visually inspected the chambers of the E7s and the GT40ps side by side I think I can tell a little difference int the size and the other obvious difference is the spark plug location. Whatever numbers are exact (you would have to burette the chambers to be exact), the literature verifies that the change will reap a 0.4 to 0.5 increase in compression from the published 9 to 1 to about 9.5 to 1. So there should be some power to be had in this change over. Another thing that I feel more comfortable about is that I like working with iron heads unless there is a real good reason to save the weight by ditching them. They are a little tougher to hurt. So I am sticking with them until I am convinced otherwise. The only real downside that I can see is the difficulty of servicing the plugs on #3 and #4 plugs. It may very from header type but form mine it is there and a shortening of a 5/8 socket allows me to take care of that problem very nicely. It avoids the curve in the header tube going forward on the right bank.

I got sidetracked by a little something in the garage called the roadster. I finally got to the point where it was ready to start I thought. Couldn't get the solenoid switch wire energized so I finally found a bad plug connection in the brand new body harness. Then there were a few more things forgotten or overlooked. After about 2 days of that, I finally was ready to do the first start. So on 3/13/12 at appp 3 PM. I got it started. It sounded great. So I think the engine strategy really is working in this case. My next door neighbor who lives down the road (there is an acre lot) between our houses, could here the thing start up from inside his house. So I wasn't alone for long. But now I am going to have to do a reenactment of the event on video to show how it happened or as they say, "it didn't happen"! One more step completed. WEK.:):)
