Rick has been making steady progress on the cage, and the last of the bars were welded into place on February 24th. Here's some pics of the finished work:

That thing already looks fast and safe! Just a dumb question........ how much weight do you add by beefing up the frame the way you do? Love watching the build process on a REAL race car!
NicksPapaw, With all of the tubing that we used, it only adds about 100 pounds, that includes the side impact bars, front chassis support tubes, and the rear impact structure. Hank
What radius die did you guys use for making all your bends. Going to buy a bender soon and really only want to buy one die. JC
JC, This door bar cage was done with a 4 1/2" radius die, that is the minimum allowed in SCCA/NASA rules. I'll have a tutorial later this week on all the steps to do the intrusion bars. HTH. Hank
