#99 Lives!

We did the 1st startup of #99 today and I'm a happy camper. It was almost anti-climactic as we primed the fuel system (old school carbadrooler) with a primer bulb from an outbooard motor fuel tank, fixed a couple of minor leaks, gave it a couple of good accelerator pump shots, and she fired right off.
The Wheeler Power 347 sounds pretty stout (dyno'd @ 425HP/430lbs-ft @ 5000rpm. I think this thing is going to be scary fast.
No gokarting as the brakes weren't quite done but we had the rearend off the ground and could run the TKO 5speed through the gears.
A major milestone for me. Thanks to Al bridges (the best boat mecahnic on the planet) Mike Doyne and Pete Rich for the help and moral support. Hell, we didn't even need the fire extinguisher!
