Another Update 9/18/2011

Rate this Entry
Well, once again I took the summer off from the build. Just too hot. Also I had some money constraints..European vacations and legal bills can do that :-)

Things Settled down eventually and I got back to work. The weather was still a little hot until just recently. Even working in the shade of the garage, you still sweat like a pig when its 105 outside.

We dry fit the body today.

1: Because I am ready to start working on cut-outs and figuring exactly where wires can run between the body and the frame. I also need to measure for footbox extensions.

2: Just because it looks cool and is a good motivational boost.

Summary of work completed:

Got the needed parts to finish off the front end and got the tires mounted.
Started the wire diet and working on the wire runs for the back end wires.
Finalizing the ebrake...the suplied cables are too long...had to work out a fix.
Brakes plumbed but not filled/bled yet..still have to bench test the ABS unit first.
Remote resevoir found and installed.
Quick disconnect for steering shaft welded on.
Except for footbox mods and a couple panels on the tranny tunnel, all aluminum is drilled...finally.
Stock seats are just sitting in there. Kirkey high backs will be purchased. I was going to do that anyways, but it was nice to test these seats ref. my height...The kirkeys will be better for my leg room for sure.

Heres a shot of my ABS/remote setup so far.

In this last pic, you can see the back tires dont fill the whell well like the fronts do. We'll see how much we can extend the heim joints in the IRS..might be getting some spacers...
